Society History
The Saint's International Dental Journal, initially started in the year 2015, about 10 years ago, by the esteemed Ranbaj Academy of Education in Mohali. In 2020, following a brief hiatus of two and a half years, Dr. Anand Kumar's office at the Moti Lal Nehru Medical College in Prayagraj took the initiative to re-launch the journal, with the distinguished Dr. Nirma Yadav assuming the role of Editor-in-Chief. To further enhance its development, the journal was subsequently entrusted to the Society of Dental Research and Education, marking a promising new chapter in its history.
This significant revitalization aimed to enhance the dissemination of dental research and educational advancements. To achieve this goal, we assembled a diverse global editorial team, comprising experts from various countries and backgrounds. This collaborative effort has allowed us to attract and publish a wide array of articles from authors around the world, thereby enriching the journal's content and its impact on the field of dental research and education. In light of various administrative challenges, we have decided to transition this journal to the society itself, effective in 2025. Achieving success in this endeavor demands significant dedication and motivation. The global staff is pleased to announce our commitment to launching a biannual publication, beginning in June and December 2020 (Wolter-Kluwer Medknow), with the society as publisher in 2025. This publication will offer vital and advanced insights into dentistry and its allied specialities, inspiring professionals to further develop their expertise and elevate their practices.

Comprehensive Evaluation Framework For Manuscript Submissions
Submitting a manuscript to a reputable scientific dental multispecialty journal involves a comprehensive evaluation process that goes beyond simple submission. It is essential for research contributions to meet established quality and relevance standards. The Saint's International Dental Journal, recognized for its excellence in the field, implements a stringent assessment process for all manuscripts. This process combines editorial judgment with expert peer review to maintain the scholarly integrity of the journal.
At SIDJ, the journey of a manuscript begins with a comprehensive editorial screening. During this initial phase, the editorial team evaluates whether the submission aligns with the journal's objectives, originality, novelty, and quality standards. This preliminary assessment ensures that only manuscripts presenting significant and original research progress to the next stages. If a manuscript successfully satisfies these criteria, it advances to one or more rounds of peer review. In this phase, experts in the field critically analyze the methodology, accuracy, significance, and clarity of the research. The feedback from peer reviewers not only confirms the scientific rigor of the work but also provides valuable insights that aid authors in refining their manuscripts for publication.
This dual-layered approach, which includes both editorial oversight and expert peer evaluation, is crucial for ensuring the publication of research that advances knowledge in the multispecies dental sciences and related fields. The editorial team's commitment to thoroughly reviewing every submission promotes a culture of excellence and reliability, further establishing The Saint's International Dental Journal as a leading publication in the field.
The submission process at The Saint's International Dental Journal demonstrates a strong commitment to thoroughness and academic integrity. By utilizing multiple evaluations, the journal ensures that each accepted manuscript makes a meaningful contribution to the ongoing scientific discourse. This rigorous oversight benefits not only the authors and readers but also fosters progress within the broader research community.
Maintaining Ethical Standards in Scholarly Publishing: Authors Responsibilities
Submitting manuscripts to scholarly journals involves significant ethical responsibilities. At the heart of these is the need for integrity in publishing. This text outlines the key obligations authors, particularly the corresponding author, must meet to ensure their manuscripts comply with ethical guidelines and that all contributors are informed and in agreement.
Core Principles of Ethical Manuscript Submission
When authors submit a manuscript to a journal, they implicitly affirm that their work adheres to established norms of scholarly honesty and respect. One crucial requirement is that the manuscript must not infringe on any form of ethical misconduct, such as plagiarism, data fabrication, or duplicate publication. These practices undermine the credibility not only of the individual researchers but also of the scientific community at large.
Furthermore, the corresponding author carries a pivotal role in this process. This individual is responsible for overseeing the final content of the manuscript—as it will appear in publication—and ensuring that it has been thoroughly reviewed, revised, and approved by all co-authors. This guarantees that every author is aware of the submitted content, agrees with its presentation, and endorses its conclusions.
The Importance of Unified Author Consent
Transparent communication among co-authors is essential for successful collaboration. It is crucial for each author to have a comprehensive understanding of their specific role as well as the overall content of the manuscript. This shared understanding promotes collective responsibility and helps to mitigate potential disputes or misrepresentations once the manuscript is submitted. Additionally, many journals mandate a formal declaration or statement indicating that all authors have reviewed, read, and agreed to the final version of the manuscript prior to its submission for peer review.
Conclusion
Ethical publishing is based on the principles of honest authorship, comprehensive internal review, and clear agreement among all contributors. Following these ethical standards is crucial for maintaining the integrity of research and building public trust in scholarly communication. As the academic landscape continues to evolve, it is vital to uphold these values to responsibly and transparently advance knowledge.
